The New York Jets have released LB CJ Mosley, who signed a 5-year, $85M contract with the team back in 2019 as a free agent. Mosley, 32, played just two games in 2019 and then opted out in 2020 due to COVID-19. He returned in 2021, starting in every game for the Gang Green and going to the Pro Bowl. Mosley also started every game in 2022 and 2023. Last season Mosley missed 13 games due to toe and neck injuries. He played 56 games for the Jets, recording 504 tackles (300 solo), 3.5 sacks, 3 INTs, 4 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries.
The Jets re-signed LB Jamien Sherwood, who replaced Mosley in the starting lineup last season, to a 3-year, $45M extension a few days ago.
The Gang Green also signed free agent C Josh Myers to a 1-year, $3.5M deal. Myers, 26, is a former 2nd round draft pick for the Green Bay Packers. He missed just one game in the last 3 seasons, starting in 50 games for Green Bay during that span. Myers is projected to back up C Joe Tippmann.
