The New York Jets have reportedly agreed on a 4-year deal with WR Allen Lazard, formerly of the Green Bay Packers. The deal is for $44M, $22M of which is guaranteed. Lazard, 28, had 60 receptions for 788 yards and 6 touchdowns last season, his best in the NFL.
Lazard was reportedly one of the players that QB Aaron Rodgers wanted the Jets to sign. Lazard, 6’5″, adds a much needed big target in the end zone and is a perfect addition to WR Garrett Wilson and WR Elijah Moore. This move also most likely means the end of WR Corey Davis‘ tenure with the Jets.
The Gang Green are also expected to pursue longtime Packers WR Randall Cobb, another player who Rodgers supposedly wanted the Jets to sign.
ESPN also reported that Rodgers would also like the Jets to sign WR Odell Beckham Jr., but there is no sign the Gang Green are pursuing him yet.
