The New York Jets used the 5th round pick they acquired yesterday in the trade with the Vikings to trade up and select WR Malachi Corley from Western Kentucky in the 3rd round. The Jets moved from #72 overall to #65 overall to draft a slot receiver to compliment their starters, Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams.
Corley, 5’11”, 215 lbs caught 29 touchdown passes in 4 NCAA seasons, including 11 in each of the last two seasons. He had his best year as a sophomore in 2022 when he caught 101 passes for 1,295 yards, 11 TD. He’s a tough, physical wide receiver who has the power to break tackles and gain yards after catch. He is, however, an average route runner and drops quite a few passes.
The Jets still have five more selections in this year’s draft, which concludes tomorrow.
