Media were on hand for the Jets’ training camp practice today. Here’s what went down according to those on hand:
- The Jets were not in pads this time;
- Deuce Carter, who hurt his ankle on Wednesday, was not in attendance;
- Takk McKinley was working over in the rehab area;
- Xavier Gipson did not practice;
- Sauce Gardner was absent for personal reasons;
- Morgan Moses appeared in team drills for the first time, with the starting line-up playing together;
- Micheal Clemons blew up a run to open the team period;
- Aaron Rodgers hit back with a long completion over the middle to Garrett Wilson in stride;
- Breece Hall dropped a Rodgers pitch and the defense recovered with Zaire Barnes in on the play;
- Adrian Martinez struggled on his first series with the threes as he had a near-pick and a botched running play;
- Ashtyn Davis had a sack and a forced fumble on Tyler Conklin;
- In red zone, Rodgers picked up where he left off with a touchdown to Wilson;
- Quincy Williams stopped Hall in the flat on a play where Quinnen Williams may have had a sack anyway;
- Rodgers completed a short touchdown pass to Conklin in the red zone over Jarrick Bernard-Converse at the back pylon;
- Tyrod Taylor was looking sharp as he zipped a nice red zone touchdown to Jason Brownlee;
- In the second team period, Jamien Sherwood blew up a run to get things going;
- Rodgers drew the defense offside and hit Conklin with a no-look pass for a touchdown on the free play;
- Jeremy Ruckert made a tough catch over Bernard-Converse;
- Bernard-Converse broke up a Rodgers pass intended for Wilson, but then Rodgers hit Wilson for an eight-yard touchdown on a fade route over Brandon Codrington;
- Taylor scrambled for a touchdown in red zone work;
- Andrew Peasley made a nice downfield throw to Brownlee but he failed to come up with it;
- On two-minute drill, Rodgers hit a quick pass to Wilson, then connected on a back shoulder throw to Allen Lazard and then found an open Wilson for a 30-yard touchdown; and
- Brownlee laid out for a diving catch from Taylor as he beat Codrington.
