Media were on hand for the Jets’ training camp practice today. Here’s what went down according to those on hand:
- Fans were also in attendance;
- The Jets gave virtually all their starters including Aaron Rodgers and CJ Mosley the day off as Robert Saleh said beforehand that the starters have had a big workload so backups would get more reps today;
- Jeremy Ruckert, who returned to practice yesterday in a no-contact jersey, was cleared for full contact;
- Qwan’tez Stiggers did not practice, but Irv Charles returned to practice;
- Olu Fashanu was getting reps on the right side again;
- Tyrod Taylor opened the team session with a big gain to Ruckert;
- Braelon Allen then had a couple of good runs;
- Taylor then threw incomplete under pressure from Takk McKinley;
- The set ended with a short completion from Taylor to Lance McCutcheon and a throw over the middle that Malachi Corley snagged in traffic;
- Israel Abanikanda had a couple of good touches with the third unit;
- Adrian Martinez did well on a drive the field drill, with completions to Abanikanda and Charles; and
- Taylor hit Ruckert twice, including once for a first down, on his last series. Abanikanda also had a catch and two runs. Taylor then eluded pressure and found Jason Brownlee over the middle.
