The divisional round of the NFL playoffs continues
The divisional round of the NFL playoffs continues tonight when the Detroit Lions host the Washington Commanders. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 pm EST.
The 15-2 Detroit Lions are coming off a bye week as the #1 seed in the NFC. The Lions have won 14 of their last 15 games, but they have suffered numerous injuries, particularly on defense, leaving the Lions more vulnerable than their record might indicate. The Lions feature the NFL’s #1 offense in points scored and #2 offense in yards gained. On defense it’s been more of a struggle. The Lions rank 20th in yards allowed and 30th in passing yards allowed. They have given up 30+ points in three of their last five games.
The 13-5 Washington Commanders are the #5 seed in the NFC playoffs. They come into this game winners of six straight games, including a thrilling 23 – 20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week in the wild card round. The Commanders are led by sensational rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Daniels has transformed the Commanders’ offense, leading them to a top 5 scoring offense this season.
The Lions have home field advantage today, where they have a 7-2 record this season. The Commanders are 6-3 on the road this season. The Lions are 6-2 against playoff teams this season, while the Commanders are 2-4.
