On Thursday morning’s edition of “Get Up,” ESPN’s Mike Greenberg revealed his record prediction for the New York Jets. Let’s just say he’s too optimistic about his favorite NFL team.
After dropping the season opener to the San Francisco 49ers, Greenberg has the Jets rattling off 11 straight wins. That means he has them defeating the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans among some other competent teams.
It’s not until Week 14 against the Miami Dolphins that Greenberg gives the Jets their second loss of the year. He then has the Jets suffering another loss on Dec. 29 against the Bills. That matchup will take place in Buffalo.
Overall, Greenberg has the Jets going 14-3 next season. We’re not kidding.
“I got 14-3,” Greenberg said. “Did I undersell them?”
Greenberg received some pushback from Ryan Clark and Alan Hahn, but at least Damien Woody agreed with him that New York will win double-digit games this fall.
Honestly, the Jets’ schedule seems pretty favorable – especially at the start of the season. If they can get off to a hot start, they should be in prime position to make the playoffs.
Unfortunately for the Jets, we can’t talk about them without considering their history. They haven’t been to the playoffs since the 2010 season.
