The Dallas Cowboys host the Houston Texans tonight on Monday Night Football
Monday Night Football, Week 11. Tonight the Dallas Cowboys host the Houston Texans. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 pm EDT. The Texans are 7.5 point road favorites against the Cowboys according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
The 3-6 Dallas Cowboys come into this game losers of four straight, including a 34 – 6 thumping at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles last week. The Cowboys haven’t done much of anything particularly well this year. They are ranked 22nd in yards gained and 27th in yards allowed. They have allowed more points against them than all but one team in the NFL. The Cowboys do a terrible job running the ball on offense, ranking 31st in the NFL. They have done better in the passing game, but with star quarterback Dak Prescott out with an injury, their passing game is now severely compromised. In short, the Cowboys are one of the worst teams in the NFL.
The 6-4 Houston Texans come into this game losers of three of their last four games after winning five of six to open the season. The loss of receivers Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs to injuries in recent weeks has hamstrung the Texans’ offense. Fortunately for the Texans, they get Collins back tonight. Quarterback C.J. Stroud has struggled without his best targets this year, but getting Collins back should help a lot.
The Texans have done well on defense this year. They are ranked 3rd in the NFL in yards allowed. In an odd turn of events, the Texans’ pass defense ranks 3rd in the NFL in passing yards allowed, and dead last in the NFL in passing touchdowns allowed. That’s not something you see every day. If Dak Prescott were healthy he might team up with CeeDee Lamb to exploit the Texans’ vulnerability to passing touchdowns. However, without Prescott, this shapes up as a long night for the Cowboys.
This game looks like a mismatch. The Texans are simply a much better football team. The Cowboys have home field advantage, but that is about the extent of their advantages. The Texans have a better offense and a better defense. They have a better running game and a better passing game. They have a much better quarterback. The Texans are in the thick of a playoff race, and the Cowboys have nothing to play for but pride. All signs point to the Texans cruising to a victory tonight. I’m taking the Texans to prevail over the Cowboys tonight. If you bet, good luck to you, and please consider using our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook.
