The New York Jets tried to bury the story a bit on Super Bowl weekend, but the team informing quarterback Aaron Rodgers he would no longer be on the team did catch plenty of attention.
The NFL world reacted to it in an interesting manner. Few were surprised about the Jets looking in another direction… but there was some credit given to New York. The Jets made a decision and really did not wait all that long to make it happen.
A roundup of national media reaction to the Jets deciding to move on from Rodgers can be found below:

This was definitely good on the Jets to get ahead of the Rodgers decision before it became an offseason storyline about Rodgers choosing his path and all the attention that follows. Everyone is focused on the SB this week and they move on before people can change their focus

“If you’re not gonna be the Aaron Rodgers from circa 2010-2021, all the unusual stuff that he brings… I believe that played a factor in them saying, ‘you’re all-in or you’re all-out’.” – @SteveKim323 on the Jets moving on from Aaron Rodgers. pic.twitter.com/JHRCXfkzul
