The New York Jets made a slew of roster moves this week ahead of their final game of a tough 2024 NFL season.
One stood out above the rest and it, once again, related to kickers.
The Jets (4-12) will have their fifth kicker of the year in Week 18 against the Miami Dolphins (8-8). It will be Greg Joseph.
That is the most kickers New York has rostered in a single season in team history. What a year it has been.
Joseph is being signed from the practice squad to the active roster because veteran Greg Zuerlein is heading back to injured reserve again.
Zuerlein was activated from that injury designation last week against the Buffalo Bills but did not attempt a field goal. Now he wont again this year as he’s back on IR after sustaining back stiffness in warmups ahead of that game.
Joseph suited up for the New York Giants and Washington Commanders this season. He has gone 15-of-19 on his attempts this year and made all eight of his extra points. Over 74 career games, Joseph has connected on 82.1 percent of his attempts.
Joseph, 30, was originally signed to the practice squad last week.
Roster Moves:
Signed DL Phidarian Mathis & LB Jamin Davis to active roster
Signed OL David Sharpe to practice squad
Signed K Greg Joseph to active from practice squad
Placed K Greg Zuerlein & S Chuck Clark on IR
