No team has been more plagued by quarterback woes in franchise history than the New York Jets (except maybe the Chicago Bears). So did the Jets potentially let a good one slip through their fingers?
According to ProFootballTalk, the Jets announced on Wednesday that they have signed tight end Kevin Foelsch to their 90-man roster. In a corresponding move, they waived rookie quarterback Colby Suits, who joined as an undrafted free agent several weeks ago.
Suits played for Houston Christian last season after previously four seasons for ULM. He completed 55.83-percent of his passes for 1,919 yards and 13 touchdowns with 11 interceptions while adding 162 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
Suits was one of five quarterbacks the Jets had on their roster. Heading into 2024, they have Aaron Rodgers as their starter, Tyrod Taylor as their backup, rookie Jordan Travis as their third-string and rookie Andrew Peasley likely competing for a practice squad spot.
It seems that Suits was destined to be the odd man out based on this depth chart.
None of the quarterbacks currently on the Jets roster played more than a few snaps for the Jets last year (Rodgers) and two of them are coming off season-ending injuries (Rodgers and Travis).
Do the Jets have a good quarterbacks room heading into training camp?
