Rex Ryan wants in… and it might happen.
After the former New York Jets head coach tossed his own name in the ring to be the team’s next head coach… it appears he will get the interview he wants.
Ryan, 62, has been vocal about wanting a chance to return. He’s reportedly going to get that opportunity to do so with an interview which is slated for Tuesday:
Sources: Former #Jets coach Rex Ryan is set to interview with the Jets on Tuesday, an opportunity for Ryan to state his case to his old team.

Ryan went 46-50 in six seasons as New York’s bench boss. He was previously employed by the Jets from 2009 to 2014 which included back-to-back trips to the AFC Championship game. That was the last time the team cracked the postseason.
After that, he spent two seasons with the Buffalo Bills where he had a 15-16 record.
New York’s last head coach, Robert Saleh, was fired on Oct. 8. The team was 2-3 at the time, named Jeff Ulbrich the interim, and the Jets’ current record is 4-12.
After letting Saleh go, the Jets announced the The 33rd Team, a football media, analytics and consulting media outlet would assist team owner Woody Johnson in their search for a new general manager and head coach. That group was founded by former Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum and ex-Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman.
