The New York Jets and their split from quarterback Aaron Rodgers might reportedly predate the hiring of Aaron Glenn.
The team’s new head coach met with the 41-year-old prior to the two sides deciding to move in a different direction, according to separate reports.
In a newer update, NFL insider Josina Anderson reports that the Jets were already having those internal discussions to move on from the QB before Glenn was hired:

In the end, Glenn and new general manager Darren Mougey would have had their say in the decision with Rodgers. However, if this update holds true then it likely impacted the team’s hiring process between those two.
