During this Monday’s edition of “Get Up” on ESPN, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III unleashed a bold take about the New York Jets.
Griffin said the Jets will win the Super Bowl this upcoming season if Aaron Rodgers plays like a top-10 quarterback.
“If Aaron Rodgers plays like a top-10 quarterback like the execs have him ranked and we’ve known him to be – an off year for Aaron Rodgers is a career year for most quarterbacks,” Griffin said. “If he plays like a top-10 quarterback, I think the Jets win the Super Bowl.”
When healthy, Rodgers is an MVP-caliber quarterback. The fact that Griffin believes he only needs to be a top-10 option shows that he has confidence in the roster the Jets have assembled.
It didn’t take long for NFL fans to rip Griffin for this take. Most of them are skeptical of the Jets, especially since Rodgers is coming off a torn Achilles.
“RGIII needs to be drug tested,” one fan commented.
Another fan said, “In the AFC?! He still got the San Fran Curse too? Waaaay too soon to say that.”
“RG3 is the worst mainstream sports media member and it isn’t even close,” a third fan wrote.
“If [Aaron Rodgers] plays like a top ten quarterback, I think the Jets win the Super Bowl.”

On paper, the Jets have enough talent to contend in the AFC. However, there are serious questions about Rodgers’ health and Robert Saleh’s coaching ability.
The Jets will begin their 2024 season on the road against the San Francisco 49ers.
