In addition to the Jalen Mills addition we reported yesterday, the Jets made a couple of other practice squad moves:
We’ve signed S Jalen Mills and LB Brandon Smith to the practice squad and released S Jaylen Key from the practice squad.

The former fourth round pick Smith is an off-ball linebacker who made one start in his rookie year but he has only played 53 defensive snaps in regular season action. He has nine tackles in 14 career games and is an outstanding athlete.
The Jets now have two Brandon Smiths on their practice squad, with the former UFL wide receiver already residing there. We’ll have to decide who is Ace and who is Deuce.
Key never really made an impression in preseason having been selected with the very last pick of April’s draft. He is now the only player from the 2022, 2023 and 2024 drafts no longer with the Jets.
