The Jets made one waiver claim and will now need to make a cut to accommodate this player:
Jets made one waiver claim: TE Brenden Bates from the Bears. And they had just one player claimed off waivers, DB Shemar Bartholomew who went to the Panthers.

We had been expecting a tight end claim and Bates could be an upgrade on the four guys the Jets cut over the past week. He had six catches for 100 yards in preseason. The undrafted rookie from Kentucky is 6’4″ and 246 and ran a 4.68 in the 40-yard dash at his pro day.
Everyone but Bartholomew from yesterday’s cuts could now be re-signed to the practice squad and names are already being reported. We’ll provide details of the full squad and the corresponding move for the Bates claim later on.
