With CJ Mosley not playing, the Jets will need McCrary-Ball for special teams duties again. However, they will only be able to elevate him one more time this season. If any other linebackers miss time later in the year, the Jets may have to sign McCrary-Ball to the active roster but other options include Jackson Sirmon and Anthony Hines. They also have Brandon Smith and Zaire Barnes on the injured list.
The Hector move is interesting because the Jets don’t necessarily need him for this game but it could mean that Leonard Taylor III might not be active this week. Alternatively, maybe they want extra line depth in case the team wins comfortably so they can rest more guys ahead of the London trip.
