Two-time Pro Bowler linebacker Haason Reddick is holding out from training camp but the Baltimore Ravens could be favorites to sign him. According to a report, Reddick is making his stance clear to receive a new contract, so he isn’t reporting to camp due to their dispute. It wasn’t too long before the Jets made a move to trade for the star pass rusher from the Eagles, he has one last year on his contract but he’s eager to receive an extension. Reddick is digging heels in this situation and it doesn’t look like it’ll be a good one, it shouldn’t surprise anyone if he ends up on another roster.
However, New York could play hardball by forcing him to play in the final year of his contract. It won’t be easy for a team already giving up so much to get Reddick in return to help the defense. They could offer him a new alternating contract but the Jets hold the leverage in these talks since Reddick is just arriving on the team and hasn’t been playing for New York. Reddick knows the Jets need him since losing defensive lineman Bryce Huff and trading away John Franklin-Myers.
The pass rusher is still one of the best in the league so the Jets are on the clock to come up with a solution. A trade seems likely so the Baltimore Ravens look to be the right fit he would probably agree to for his one-year chance on his current contract. This comes after even the Jets offered him a new deal but Reddick is declining. Baltimore has one of the strongest defensive linebackers with Kyle Van Noy and Roquan Smith.
However, Reddick’s addition could help Odafe Oweh and David Ojabo on the other side.

Other Potential Trade Fits
Kansas City Chiefs
Reddick may as well start ring chasing at this point if nothing satisfies him in terms of a new contract. It would be safe for the Chiefs to take a gamble on Reddick with already a youth linebacker corps. Nick Bolton, Drue Tranquill and Leo Chenal all have big shoes to fill this season. L’Jarius Sneed was their best man to be consistent with pressuring the quarterbacks even though he was just a cornerback.
Reddick is their next star who could evolve this defense with superstar Chris Jones returning on a mega contract.
Los Angeles Chargers
This would unlikely happen but a scenario could happen where a trade involving Reddick and Joey Bosa may change the landscape of this league. Bosa is already accepting a new contract restructure but it doesn’t mean a guarantee to stay on the team beyond this upcoming season. However, the Chargers could take a gamble on Reddick if the team feels like Khalil Mack or Bosa are not producing like they have been before. Jim Harbaugh wants a strong running game this season but he wants this team to have a hard nose-tackle football so that includes having an explosive defense.
Dallas Cowboys
If any team needs help or insurance, it’s the Dallas Cowboys. America’s team has been looking like they’re in a slump this offseason so their chances at a Super Bowl ring are low. Eric Kendricks is a good start to replace Leighton Vander-Esch but they need someone long-term. The Cowboys are going to have to get creative trading for Reddick but that’s their permanent solution to get pressure on future quarterbacks.
