Before Thanksgiving Day, the New Jersey Devils will host the St. Louis Blues. There shall be a time for hockey in Newark before thanks is given across America. Talk about the hockey game as it happens here.
Our Favorite Team hosts St. Louis prior to Thanksgiving. May Our Favorite Team receive the blessing of two more points in the standings.
The Time: 7:00 PM ET
The Broadcast: TV: MSGSN2, FanDuel Sports Network Midwest; Audio: Devils Hockey Radio
The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils vs. the St. Louis Blues
The Song of the Evening: NoMeansNovember continues. Rob and John Wright love the Ramones. Definitely an influence on their music, however you would not quite know that from their releases as NoMeansNo. Simple, high-energy, three-chord songs about girls and things are not exactly common in the NMN discography. So what do you do? You start a side project band called The Hanson Brothers and record simple, high-energy, three-chord songs about girls and things. (Songs that ended up getting into the EA Sports game Rock the Rink of all things.)
Anyway. The project yielded three albums including 1996’s Sudden Death. Being a Ramones-style band back in the mid-1990s was very contemporary in the punk scene given how relatively big Screeching Weasel, The Mr. T Experience, The Queers, and The Riverdales (which was basically a Ben Weasel and Dan Vapid project) were back then along with a ton of other Ramones-a-likes. (e.g. Boris the Sprinkler, Jon Cougar Concentration Camp) The Wrights did it just as well. Even on a track devoted to infamous German schlager and folk singer Heinz Georg Kramm: “You Can’t Hide the Heino.”
The Rules: The rules remain as they are as the Devils are playing right before Thanksgiving. Please keep your language clean (this means no swearing, don’t mask it, it’s not enough, no I don’t care what Tom Fitzgerald said), respect your fellow Devils fan with no personal attacks (play nice or you will not play here), no illegal streams (this means no asking, no hints, no nothing about it), and please keep your comments relevant to this game. Go Devils!
